Once you finish up the main Gweden quest line, and are collecting an income, if you are also Arena Grand Champion, you receive notice of a challenger to your title. You should go to the Imperial City Arena to defend your title, although the threat of default is not a real one.
When you get to the Arena, you find Freija in the Bloodworks wearing a man's gladiatorial outfit, which keeps her breasts cool. Owyn is not amused, but Ysabel seems impressed by her fighting skills. After you accept Freija's challenge, Ysabel tells you there are special rules for the bout and you'll be using the same gear, with no magic rings, amulets or spells allowed.
There is a chest behind her chair, which will trade your entire inventory for the Arena outfit. Remember to use it again after the match to get all your possessions back!
When you fight her in the Arena, her stats are matched to your own (actually a little lower) for Blade, Block and Hand-to-hand, which are the only ones you get any real opportunity to use. The sword has a low durability and is soon broken, so you are likely to end the match using your fists. With your slight edge, you will eventually knock her out, only to find that she's marked essential, and won't die!
But don't worry, you get a 15% restoration of your heath when you knock her out, and after it happens three times, she abandons the attempt to defeat you and removes her helmet to show she's done, as well as telling you, in case you didn't get the message. You can now offer a draw, and she'll accept, heading for the Battle Matron for a ruling.
When you tell Ysabel the news, she doesn't know how to handle the unprecedented situation, but Freija then confesses to cheating and concedes. She admits that she has been made immortal by Boethia and sent to fight in the Arena as a "ringer". She also tells you that her inability to die is not the blessing she thought it would be, as it doesn't remove the pain, only the means of escape.
She's giving up fighting, but not convinced that the brothel is her new path. Before she'll consider joining the girls at the farm, she goes off to learn healing and related spells at the chapels and Mages Guilds around Cyrodiil. Her journey will take several weeks but eventually lead her to Gweden.
She starts in Bruma, where she learns healing at the Chapel, then goes to Bravil to learn to cast Calm at the Mages guild. Next she goes to Chorrol, where she gets a special spell of her own to summon a Bound Sword, and minimal armor (that does at least include a Shield spell). Then on to Cheydilhal chapel to learn to cure disease, and finally Anvil Mages Guild for Cure Paralysis.
On her jouney around Cyrodill, she will have encountered many Bandits, Highwaymen and wild creatures, who may have tempered her new-found pacifism a bit by the time she gets to Gweden. She's quite open to new ideas by this point and will accept the farm's hospitality for a while at least, and help its business in return.

Stage | Finishes Quest | Journal Entry |
10 | I received word that there is a new team champion at the Arena that wants to challenge me for the Grand Championship. I'd better go there soon before they take my title by default!
20 | I have accepted a challenge from a Nord girl called Freija for the Grand Championship of the Arena. I must say she seems unreasonably confident in her abilities ... and that she puts on a fine show!
30 | I've beaten Freija unconscious, but she just won't die! Something is not right about this contest.
40 | Freija and I have fought each other to a standstill. It is pointless to continue fighting, and I have accepted a draw. This is unprecedented in Arena history, but what else can we do?
50 | This stage used for Freija's confession
60 | Freija has admitted using unfair means (immortality, no less!) and conceded the match. I remain the Grand Champion, but what becomes of her?
80 | Freija wants to learn healing before she commits to joining us at Gweden. With those skills as well as the ones I've seen in the Arena, she should be more than welcome there. But I wonder if she will decide to become a full-time healer instead? Only time will tell.
100 | Freija has arrived at Gweden Farm! |
