Detailed Walkthrough

A Trip to Falkreath

Taminwe tells you there's a possible heiress to the throne just over the border with Skyrim, in the small town of Falkreath. Her name is Kintyra, and she could be a descendant of Jolethe, the sister of Emperor Pelagius III. Jolethe married a Nord noble, and Emperor Cephorus II was one of their line. Her mother Anya would have been the next in line, but word just arrived that she'd been killed by trolls. Since that had to be confirmed, you can investigate both at once.

Ring of Imprisonment

When you track down Kintyra, you find that Anya is still alive, but is comatose or paralyzed. You'll have to raise Kintyra's disposition to at least 70 before she'll let you visit her mother. That may be a bit difficult if you don't have a charm spell, as she can't be persuaded! Anya is wearing a ring, and when you take it from her finger, she wakes up. She tells you that she was down in the old mine trying to clear it of trolls, but was getting short of Magicka. She had put on an extra ring, but the intended Fortify Magicka one had been mixed up with a Ring of Imprisonment, which rendered the wearer immobile. She takes it back from you, for safety.

Trolls in the Mine

The rest of the trolls are still in the lower level of the old mine beneath the town. You need to go and finish what she started. Anya rewards you with a leveled Ring of Frost Resistance.

Anya will tell you that she's not descended from Jolethe, but from her husband's brother. She's a distant cousin of the late Emperor, but only by marriage. Not close enough to put her in line for the throne.

10 Taminwe has asked me to go to Falkreath, in Skyrim, to investigate a woman who may be in line for the throne. It is possible that she's descended from Jolethe Septim, sister of Pelagius III. Her name is Kintyra, apparently named after the Empresses..Her mother, Anya, would have been the subject of my inquiries, but it seems she was recently killed by trolls.
15 Gudrun has told me how to get to Falkreath. It's just over the border from Sky's Edge Cave, which I already know.
20 I've arrived in Falkreath. I should ask around to see if anyone knows where I can find this Kintyra.
30 The locals have directed me to the tavern, but apparently Anya, her mother, is still alive. That changes my mission somewhat.
40 I have Kintyra's permission to visit her mother.
50 I removed a ring from Anya's finger and she woke up!
70 Anya wants me to finish her task of killing the trolls in the Old Mine.
80 I have killed all the trolls in the mine. I should return and tell Anya.
90 Anya has rewarded me with a ring. She was careful not to give me the wrong one! But I almost forgot - I need to ask her about her ancestors.
100 0Yes Anya has told me about her ancestors. Apparently Taminwe's informant had it a bit wrong, and she's only related to the Septim line by marriage. Not close enough, I'm afraid.
