Detailed Walkthrough

Taminwe

At the Red Dragon Club, Taminwe has a request for an Orc to entertain the Ambassador who's on his way from Orsinium. Uriel VII had been stalling the Orcs' request for full provincial status, and they're making a new application to the Elder Council, now that there's no Emperor to turn them down.

Sugar would be ideal for the job, so you need to go back to Gweden and ask her if she'll do it.

Anvil

After sending Sugar into the City, you continue into Anvil, where the Ambassador will have arrived on a ship from Wayrest. You meet him, a very large Orc named Gorthag, and his petite Breton wife, Lady Brienne. Gorthag asks you to guard them on their journey to the City.

Ambush

As you follow the couple out of Anvil on the road towards Skingrad, you are ambushed by bandits at the same spot the Highwayman uses. Lady Brienne is unarmed, and runs away, but Gorthag stays and fights with you. When the bandits are defeated, you wait for Lady Brienne to re-appear, but she doesn't.

Gorthag decides he must continue to the City, and instructs you to keep looking for his wife. You know the nearby Hrota Cave is a popular lair for Bandits, especially if you've done the Fighters' Guild quest there, so you decide to check it out.

Hrota Cave

In Hrota Cave, you find more of the bandits (who strangely all seem to be Bretons). The leader of the band has a note on his body that reveals that this is all a setup, planned (most likely) by Queen Elysana of Wayrest. The contents of the note make it clear that Brienne is disposable.

The Red Dragon Club

You return with Brienne to the Red Dragon Club, and talk with Sugar, who has had a chance to "meet" the Ambassador. She notes that Gorthag appeared totally unconcerned about his wife's abduction. Even if he hated her, he should at least be worried that she would turn up again. Sugar suspects he knows exactly what was supposed to happen.

Brienne, not a Lady at all, but a prostitute at the Wayrest court, confesses her part. She was coached by Queen Elysana, who'd told her she would be smuggled back to Wayrest and rewarded when it was all over. The note to the Bandit leader contradicts that, and she feels betrayed.

She does have potential as a Red Dragon Club recruit. Her acting abilities were quite convincing, and Queen Elysana remarked on her other talents in the note. Talk to Sugar and Taminwe about her, and they'll agree.

Now ask Brienne about it, and gain another recruit for the staff. Sugar's going back to Gweden, so she can take over "orc duty". At this point, a new bar rotation will let Miranda and Tilasa get a bit more time for their other duties, too.

10 Taminwe has told me that Orsinium is sending an Ambassador to the Elder Council to seek recognition as a province. It would be useful to have an Orc available at the Club when he arrives. I should send Sugar here, and then proceed to Anvil and meet the Ambassador at the Count's Arms.
20 I have asked Sugar to go to the Red Dragon Club in the City and get her orders from Taminwe. I need to go on into Anvil and meet the Ambassador.
30 I met the Orcish Ambassador, Gorthag, at the Count's Arms, and he's large even for an Orc. He's brought his wife, the Lady Brienne, with him, a petite Breton. We will leave in the morning, once all their things have been unloaded from the ship.
40 On our way to the City, we were waylaid by bandits, and the Lady Brienne has disappeared. Gorthag assumes that the attack was a diversion, and she was kidnapped. He's going on into the city, and I should look for the bandits nearby. Hrota Cave's a known bandit haunt, maybe I should start there.
50 The bandits in the cave are all dead. The bandit leader had a very interesting note, signed by "E", who I suspect is Queen Elysana. I should show it to Lady Brienne.
60 I found Lady Brienne in Hrota Cave, The leader of the bandits had a note that she hadn't seen, or she wouldn't have gone with them. I showed it to her, but she said nothing. We're going back to the city to see Gorthag and Sugar.
70 Sugar told me about Gorthag's strange attitude to his missing "wife". I should talk to her again, and see if she'll explain.
80 Lady Brienne has confessed to me that she's not the Lady she pretends to be. She's really just Brienne Artois, a prostitute from Wayrest. Queen Elysana had recruited her for this trip, and coached her on how to act. She was expecting to be smuggled back to High Rock after it was all over, and now feels betrayed. Maybe she'll come over to our side?
90 Sugar and Taminwe think Brienne would make a good addition to the Red Dragon staff. I should ask her how she feels about it.
100 0Yes Brienne will be staying at the Club. We'll have to arrange a new rota for the bar duties, so Miranda and Tilasa can do other things.
