Bosmer Hearthfires

When it came to creating a Hearthfires mod for Wood Elves, I decided that the difference would be that Bosmer, especially if they adhere to the Green Pact, would avoid timber in the construction of their homes. Skyrim does not have any large hollow trees to use, so the other option was a cave. There are a number of variations of the "Creature Cave" mesh in use for dens, so I picked a zone (The Rift) and place a new one.

Closing off the open face with vines gave a large enough space to make into a comfortable home for one or two, although adoption would not work. There was a limit to how much furnishing could be made from bone, hide and ceramics so a modest space solved more than one problem. Using a tree stump as a "workbench" avoided having space for that. I retextured a few pieces to look like they used bone, instead of wood, but did not go the extra mile and re-shape the meshes.

Using bone instead of wood meant that I had to provide a supply, so larger creatures had bones added to their death items. This causea small issue with any other mods that does so, but they're not insurmountable. A bone-shafted arrow recipe was added for each class of head, too, which you can only make at your own forge.

The pre-requisite for building was to get the Token of Kyne amulet by completing Froki's quests. This would enable the stump as a workbench for construction. The stump also encloses a shrine of Kynareth which works at all times, and helps as a marker. You don't have to wear the amulet, just have it in your inventory to start the quest.

The readme has not been updated, so references to the Nexus site are obsolete. This is now the only legitimate source.

The mod is packaged as a BAIN archive, because I use Wrye Bash. That is compatible with other mod managers, but may require some extra work. I will NOT ve re-packaging any of my mods for other managers, especialy not Nexus ones.
