Selena was the Kvatch city whore, but business is somewhat disrupted by the sack of the town. She tries to be helpful around the encampment, but can't do any business in those conditions.
She believes that her customers deserve a real bed and the privacy of a room with a locked door, so she won't work the camp, but instead is hunting and gathering to feed everyone. This is the proverbial "whore with a heart of gold".
