Meet at the Waterfront Office

This quest starts after the Office is opened, when Gudrun is there, which is the first three days of each month. Once the quest has started, Gudrun will remain there with Heidi and wait for you. Any of the Waterfront residents, or the people at the Riders' Lodge will tell you that Gudrun is looking for you, and you can find her at the Waterfront Office.

Meet Heidi

Heidi is a Nord among Nords. She has substantial feminine assets, and is about as blonde as they come. Although her Blade skill is good, she's not done too well in her exams, and she only knows a little magic.

But she's quite eager to become a Rider, and you discuss her application with Gudrun.

New Uniform

Clearly the standard cuirass would be a bit tight on Heidi, so she'll need a custom one made. Gudrun sends her off to Gin-Wulm at the Best Defense in the Market District with an order for an armor like her own, but roomier in the chest. That will take a day to make, and you all meet back at the office once Heidi has it.

Back at the Office

Return to the Waterfront and talk to Heidi at the Office. She'll be wearing her new armor, barely. She'll also recount her encounter with a man in the Market District who took her for a drink or two or more at the Merchants Inn. Before he passed out (nobody out-drinks Heidi) he slurred something about 'dawn breaking' in the middle of the afternoon!

Heidi also reveals that she's quite good at extracting secrets from men, one way or another and she regrets not having used some of her persuasion on this one.

Take her back to the Merchants Inn and ask around. The trial goes cold, so you return to the Office. Gudrun will assign Heidi to take over her recruiting duties, as a cover for remaining in the city to look for the agent. Heidi will wander in the Market District on Mondays and Fridays, the Temple District on Tuesdays, the Elven Gardens District on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and the Talos Plaza on Thursdays. She doesn't visit the Arboretum or Arena, as nobody lives there.

10 (Gudrun arrives and Heidi is enabled in Waterfront Office)
20 I need to go see Gudrun at the recruitment office at the Waterfront. It seems she found a recruit after all.
30 The candidate's name is "Hidy" Heidi, and she claims to be good with a sword, but her academic record is a bit thin. I need to discuss this a bit more with Gudrun.
40 We've sent Heidi to Gin-Wulm at the Best Defense, to have him make a custom armor for her. He's a quick worker, but it will be a whole day before it's ready.
50 Heidi should have her uniform by now. I should meet her at the Recruiting office and talk to her and Gudrun about her new role in the Mountain Riders.
60 Heidi has her new uniform. I should ask her about it.
70 It appears that the Mythic Dawn have members in the city. I should take Heidi back to the Market District and see if we can find the man she met earlier.
80 Velus Hosidius at the Merchants Inn doesn't know the man Heidi met, or any of his friends. It appears that there may be more than one of the Mythic Dawn on town, but the trail has gone cold for now. We'd better head back to the Office and talk to Gudrun
100 0Yes Gudrun has told Heidi to take over running the Waterfront Office for the time being. She'll be able to keep looking for that Mythic Dawn agent, and handle any recruitment duties as her cover.
